Betty Louise Akin

Ms. Betty Louise Akin, age 93 of Westmoreland, TN, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 7, 2020.

Due to the Covid-19 government guidelines and restrictions there will be a family graveside service on Saturday, April 11, 2020 at 11:00 AM from Siloam Church Cemetery with Bro. Chad Lambert officiating. The family request that if you are not family and want to be apart of the service, you are welcome to participate in the funeral procession to the cemetery and remain at your vehicles or at a safe distance during the service. The procession will leave the funeral home at 10:45.

Betty Louise was saved as a 12 year old girl at Siloam Missionary Baptist Church during revival and united with Siloam Church. She was faithful to attend Siloam Missionary Baptist Church as long as her health permitted her to. She was married to George "Hooley" Akin in December 1946. They left Tennessee to work at Western Electric in Indiana. She retired in 1977 and returned home to Tennessee to be near her family. After her husband's death in November 1982, her brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Wanda, made sure she was taken care of. When her health began to fail her, she came to live with Jerry and Wanda for six years until Jerry's health started to fail. Although she didn't have any children of her own, her brother, Jerry, was like a son to her and his children were her grandchildren. She was always with them for every event in life. She never missed a birthday, Christmas, graduation, wedding or birth. She enjoyed being with her family and loved them all dearly.

The family would like to say a special thank you to Knollwood Manor Nursing Home for their wonderful and loving care of Betty Louise over the past few years.
