Hazel Eaton

Ms. Hazel Pruitt Eaton, age 92, of Westmoreland, TN, passed away on December 29th, 2023.  She was born August 28, 1931 in Allen County, KY to the late Rev. Dolan Pruitt and Deffie Matthews Pruitt.  

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Novice "Junior" Eaton; her daughters, Motine Williams and Patty Emery Tabor; her sisters, Katherine Pruitt Emery and June Pruitt Bessinger.

Ms. Hazel was raised General Baptist and was saved at the age of 12 years old.  She was married to the late Novice Junior Eaton on July 5, 1986.  

She is survived by her son, Rodger (Gail) Emery; her daughter, Tana Williams (Ricky) Gregory; as well as 6 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Ms. Eaton began working at ScottsCraft in Scottsville, KY in 1961 and continued working there for 27 years.  After her retirement, she opened her own flower shop, Hazel's Florist, in Westmoreland, TN in 1981 She then sold her flower shop to Ronnie Troutt and continued to work for him at his flower shop until she retired at age 80.

Funeral services for Ms. Eaton will be conducted on Wednesday, January 3, 2023 at 12:00 from the chapel of Woodard Funeral Home with Bro. Leon Graves and Bro. Jimmy Case officiating. Interment will follow in Crescent Hill Cemetery in Scottsville, KY. Visitation with the family will begin on Tuesday, January 2, 2024 from 3:00 - 8:00 PM and on Wednesday, January 3, 2024 from 9:00 AM until service time at 12:00.
