Hazel Holmes

Mrs. Hazel Dotson Holmes, age 86, of Westmoreland, passed away Monday, August 15, 2011 at Sumner Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Wed. Aug. 17th @ 1PM from the chapel of Woodard Funeral Home with Bro. Doyle Farris officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Paul Knowles, Jim Hall, Jim Sprouse, Mike Kennedy, Steve Kennedy and Maxie Graves.

Mrs. Holmes was retired from the Sumner County Board of Education as a teacher for Westmoreland Elementary School. She was a member of Westmoreland Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Dona Miller Dotson; and her husband, George Guthrie Holmes.

She is survived by her son, George D. Holmes of Goodlettsville; her sister, Mary Alice Rogers of Westmoreland; her grandchildren, John Paul Holmes of Cookeville and Alice Sanders of Cleveland, TN; her niece, Jade Rogers Maberry of Carthage; and her seven great grandchildren.
