James L. Jent

Mr. James Jent, age 86 passed away Tuesday, January 1, 2013. He was a Sumner County Native and was born to the late Maud and Ruther Jent. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Mona Davis Jent of Westmoreland.

At the age of 58, James retired from Dupont in Old Hickory, TN. He was also with the T. H. P. where he was stationed at the Governor’s residence for eight years. After retirement, he became a talented artist and studied at VolState while taking private lessons with Bob Greene, portrait painter. James spent most of his time painting and bowling, and he loved to play golf. He also loved spending time with his grandchildren. James and his wife loved to travel everywhere whether it be to Canada, Hawaii or to Mexico. James was also a member of the Scottsville Country Club.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons, James Merle & (Sharon) Jent, Robin Kim & (Jane) Jent, and Russell Davis & (Wanda) Jent; his brother, Sammy & (Mallie) Jent; and his 10 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his daughter, Lisa Caroline Jent; and his son, William Christopher Jent.

Funeral services for Mr. Jent will be conducted on Friday, Jan. 4th @2PM from the Chapel of Woodard Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Pike Cemetery. The family will receive visitors on Thurs from 11AM-9PM and Fri. 9AM-service time at Woodard Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers the family request that you make memorial contributions in the form of donations to the St. Judes or the American Cancer Society. You can make these at the office of Woodard FH.
