Joan Garrison Escue

Our beloved mother, Joan Louise Garrison Escue, 84...was called away from her earthly home, and into the loving arms of our Savior on Sunday, Sept. 26, 2021.

Mama was a woman of small stature, but great faith...and was always eager to share her faith with anyone who had a listening ear. She was "the Proverbs 31 woman" in so many ways. She arose early and never shied away from hard work. She cooked our meals and made our clothes, while always reaching out to care for others. She filled our home with fun and laughter...something we each cherish to this day.

Mama passed, as she lived: with tremendous strength and a passion for life.

She is survived by her loving husband of 16 years, Danny Escue... 5 children: Vernon Garrison, Debbie Timberman (Tim) of TN Ridge, Tn...Dianne Lewis (Gilbert) of Cherokee Village, AR... Cheryl Garrison Hoyle of Hopkinsville, KY... and Tony Garrison (Amy) of McDonough, GA... 9 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren. She is also survived by 4 sisters. She was preceded in death by her first husband of 47 yrs., Raymond Garrison, as well as her mother, Flossie Krantz Wooten, father, E. A. Wooten, 2 sisters and 4 brothers.

Services to celebrate Mrs. Escue's life will be conducted on Friday, October 1 at 11AM from the chapel of Woodard Funeral Home with Bro. Jimmy Crabtree officiating. Interment will follow in the Halltown Cemetery, Portland, TN. The family will receive visitors on Thursday, September 30th from 4PM-8PM and again on Friday, October 1st from 8AM-service time at 11AM at Woodard Funeral Home.
