John Young

John Milton Young, passed away on June 1st, 2023 in Hendersonville, Tennessee. He was born on October 9th, 1950, in Fountain Head, Tennessee. 

John was a devout Christian and member of the Union Missionary Baptist Church in Lafayette, TN. He served as an Assistant Pastor for the United Gospel Rescue Mission and Pastor of the Township Landmark Missionary Baptist Church. He had a passion for serving on mission trip teams and always went above and beyond to help those in need. John was an Electrical Project Engineer for Brown Printing Company. John was an Assistant Pastor for the United Gospel Rescue Mission and he was the Pastor of Township Landmark Missionary Baptist Church.  His kind-hearted nature and unwavering dedication to helping others are qualities that will never be forgotten.

Throughout his life, John nurtured countless memories with his friends and family. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his brother Terry M. Young (Paula); sister, Karen Y. Ragan (Phil); nephews Matt B. Young (Tiffany), Brent P. Young (Audrey), Charles Robert Ragan (Cheryl), Wayne Ragan (Carrie); as well as many great nieces and nephews.

John is preceded in death by his parents, Walter R. "Moe" Young and Joan Hiett Young, and nephew Charles Wade Young.

The services for John will be held at Woodard Funeral Home located at 5591 US-31E in Westmoreland, TN. A visitation will be held on June 4th from 1 pm until 7 pm with another visitation on June 5th from 9 am until noon followed by a funeral service at noon in the Chapel of Woodard Funeral Home. John's interment will take place at Union Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery located on Boyd Rd., Lafayette TN at 1:30 pm.

John's dedication to serving those around him inspired all who knew him to follow in his footsteps. Though he is no longer with us, his legacy of kindness and service will continue to touch the lives of those he impacted. John will be greatly missed but our loss is heavens gain.
