Larry Ray Akins

Mr. Larry Ray Akins, age 71, departed this life on May 21, 2021.

Larry served in the 4th Infantry Division and spent 13 months in Viet Nam. He served on the Westmoreland City Council and retired from the Westmoreland Water Treatment Plant. He lived in Adolphus, KY at the time of his passing.

Larry was the son of Ernest and Sarah Mae Akins. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Marilyn Creasy Akins; two daughters, Tamara (Billy) James and Lindsay Akins (Nick Monroe); six beloved grandchildren, Jordan, Lucas and Alexander James, Emma, Landry and Knox Monroe; five sisters, Wilma Moore, Diane Ferrell, Ernest Teen Weems, Kathy Freeman and Teresa Fuqua; and one brother, Roger Akins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Janice Creasy.

Larry's presence in this world will be missed by his family and by the many friends who loved him and whom he loved.

The family has chosen cremation and there will be a memorial service for Mr. Larry Akins will be held on Thursday, May 27, 2021 at 5:00 PM at Woodard Funeral Home with Bro. Glenn Creasy officiating.
