Melba Sue Huddleston, 84, of Westmoreland, went to meet the Lord on Wednesday, January 26, 2022.
Visitation will be Saturday, January 29th from 4 – 8 p.m. and on Sunday, January 30th from 12 - 2 p.m. at Woodard Funeral Home in Westmoreland.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, January 30th at 2 p.m. at Woodard Funeral Home with burial to follow in Sulphur Fork Cemetery. Officiating will be Pastor Richard Jones. Serving as pallbearers will be Toby Ellis, Vince Ellis, Houston Ellis, Van Oldham, Alex Oldham, Brody Huddleston and Bryson Huddleston. Honorary pallbearers will be Gene Denning and Dewayne Oldham.
Sue was born to Gordon Hollis and Florine “Flo” Cline Mandrell on September 28, 1937. She grew up in Westmoreland and was a 1955 graduate of Westmoreland High School. On December 23, 1955, she married Arlie J Huddleston. On August 20, 1965, a baby girl, Benetta Renee Huddleston King was born. On April 9, 1969, a baby boy, Eric Lynn Huddleston was born. They raised their family in Westmoreland. Sue later became the proud grandmother of four grandchildren, Brooke and Bria King and Brody and Bryson Huddleston. Sue worked for the Sumner County Agricultural office from October 1955 until her retirement in October 1996. She then worked for the Volunteer State Community College for four years before retiring to enjoy life as a full-time grandmother. She also enjoyed spending time with her sisters and extended family.
Sue was a gentle soul who always had a warm smile and gentle hug to share. She loved the Lord with all her heart and soul and prayed for her family every day.
Sue Huddleston was preceded in death by her parents, Gordon and Florine Mandrell, her husband Arlie J Huddleston and her sister Sherron Creasy.
She is survived by daughter, Benetta Renee Huddleston King, son Eric and wife Nicole Huddleston, granddaughters, Brooke and Bria King and grandsons, Brody and Bryson Huddleston. She leaves to cherish her memory, two sisters, Reba (Gene) Denning and Sheila (DeWayne) Oldham as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her two favorite fur babies, her cat Oreo and her dog Ginger.
Services are under the direction of Woodard Funeral Home in Westmoreland, TN.
