Samuel Turner

Samuel Turner age 71 of Westmoreland, TN. Passed away December 31st 2017. Sam was a man of principles, humor, and charisma – he was regarded as a friend by everyone he met.

MSG (Ret) Turner served in the US Army for 22 years, including 3 tours of duty in Vietnam. He was awarded the Bronze Star for Valor, a Purple Heart, and the Meritorious Service Medal among many others. After retiring Mr. Turner continued in service to his country as a Department of Defense civilian for another 20 years.

Sam was preceded in death by his mother, Martha Rey Turner (nee Reynolds), father, Jack Laverne Turner, and brother, David Arthur Turner, all of Sacramento, CA.

Sam is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Kristy Hart Turner of Westmoreland, TN and 3 children - Son, Jeff & (Lyzette)Turner of Woodbridge, Virginia, son Travis & (Ricki) Turner of Portland, TN and daughter, Sammie & (Jason) Mc Dougall of Westmoreland, TN. Sam is also survived by 5 grandsons and 2 granddaughters and his brother, Ron Turner, of Sacramento, California.
