Age 70

Only five days after losing her husband, Darrell, Sherrian Lanelle Graves joined him with the Lord on Friday, September 11, 2015.
Born the only daughter to Paul and Ophelia Doss Roark on November 15, 1944, Sherrian grew up in the Rocky Mound community and attended school in Macon County until marrying Darrell Gene Graves on July 28, 1961. She completed her senior year at and graduated from Westmoreland High School.
Most remember Sherrian for her thirty-two years of service as the secretary/bookkeeper at Westmoreland Elementary School. Many students visiting the office knew “Mrs. Sherrian" personally, first as students and later as parents. She, like her husband, was a supporter of WHS athletics as her sons and grandsons played numerous sports.
She was a member of the Westmoreland Church of Christ, committing to Christ early in life and relying on Him heavily during hers and her husband’s illnesses.
Mrs. Sherrian was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Ophelia Roark, and her husband of 54 years, Darrell.
She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Bryan and Ziona Graves, and grandsons Justice and Landon, and by son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Angie Graves, and grandsons Seth and Caleb, all of Westmoreland. She is also survived by one brother, Morris Roark and his wife Shirley, of Westmoreland.

Services will be conducted on Monday, September 14, 2015 at 2PM from Woodard Funeral Home with Bro. Charlie Millson officiating. Interment will be in New Hope Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be on Sunday, September 13th from 3PM-9PM and Monday, September 14th from 9AM-service time at 2PM.
