Timothy Woodrow Sloan
1958-2012
Timothy Woodrow Sloan was born on Saturday, April 26, 1958 in Macon County, Tennessee, the youngest child of Wiley Woodrow and Dorothy Graves (Hammock) Sloan. Tim’s work on earth was completed on Thursday, April 19th, 2012.
He was united in marriage on November 13, 1987 to Glenda Annette Meador and resided in Westmoreland, Tennessee, Macon County. Tim and Glenda have two daughters, Leslie Renee and Bethany Leann. His caring love for his family was shared at numerous family gatherings throughout the years and expressed through hugs and kisses. Tim was saved at Eulia General Baptist Church during the revival when he was a “10 year old boy” and joined the church on August 4, 1968, where he remained a devoted and faithful member. He shared his love for God and gospel music by serving as the song leader at Eulia Church for many years and singing with the Happy Hearts Gospel Singers for over 20 years. Tim loved life and shared it with all he came in contact with. Tim never seemed to meet a strange. If he knew you for a lifetime or for ten minutes, the conversation would be the same; friendly and uplifting. Tim had a love for horses. He enjoyed trail riding and riding in the Christmas Parades in all of the surrounding towns. He often spoke of how he would feel God’s presences when he would be riding through God’s beautiful creation.
Tim graduated from Macon County High School in 1976. The friendships he made during school remained true until his leaving.
Tim worked at G.F. Office Furniture in Gallatin, Tennessee for twenty two years. The people he worked with through the years were more than co-workers; they became life-long friends. After leaving G.F. Tim worked part-time for the City of Westmoreland for a short period of time driving the sanitation truck. He always shared stories of his daily adventures on the trash route; he enjoyed those he worked with and the people he met on his route.
Tim leaves behind his wife Glenda; two daughters, Leslie Renee Cheyne and her husband Jeff of Gallatin and Bethany Leann Fuqua and her husband Freddie Jr. of Lafayette; three grandchildren, Casen James Cheyne, Caelyn Sloan Cheyne and Collin Wayne Fuqua; Mother-in-law Betty Meador; one sister, Bonnie Adcock and husband Gary of Bethpage; two brothers, Larry Sloan and wife Linda and Joey Sloan and wife Susie both of Westmoreland. He is also survived by 2 nieces and 4 nephews as well as several great-nieces and nephews; Uncle Jr. and Aunt Jo, Junior and Mary Jo Gregory; Aunt Bill, Willie Mae Scruggs; and loving church family and numerous friends.
