Tina Jill Akins Wright

Tina Jill Akins Wright, age 64, of Westmoreland, TN, departed this life July 25, 2024. She was born October 18, 1959 to Dean and Reba Akins. 

She was preceded in death by her daddy, Dean Akins; and her brother, Randy Akins.

She is survived by her mother, Reba and her step-dad, Hilos Walrond; her daughter, Melissa Drew and (Josh Woodall); her three grandchildren, Jude, Paxon and Isabella Lucille Woodall; her step-brothers, Barry (Pam) Walrond and Mickie (Melissa) Walrond; her step-nieces, Mei Walrond Murrey and Halia Walrond; her dear friend, Mike Wright; her nephew, Jeremy  (Lynn) Akins, who was like a younger brother; her niece, Amy; her great-nieces, Amber, Allie, Jaleeya, Carly; her great-nephew, Braden. 

Jill was very active in high school. She was involved in the band and was a majorette. There were seven girls in high school that were her good friends. They all stuck together through everything. They are all still good friends. Now you would call them a cult. She went to Vol-State and earned her degree and then went on to work in the Westmoreland nursing home in Human Resources. She moved to Kentucky for 20 years. She moved back to Gallatin for two years, where she built a close relationship with her daughter, Melissa and her three grandchildren. 

She had been battling cancer for several months and suffered with a lot of pain. Jill is no longer in pain. She is at home in Heaven. She's there with her Dean and Randy. I'm sure the three of them are talking all at the same time.

A memorial service for Jill will be conducted on Saturday, August 3, 2024 at 1PM from the chapel of Woodard Funeral Home with Bro. Jeremy Akins. The family will receive visitors on Saturday, August 3rd from 11AM till service time at 1PM at Woodard Funeral Home.

The family has entrusted Woodard Funeral Home with the arrangements of their loved one. "Serving you as we would like to be served."
